Diseases caused by stress are becoming more frequent in modern society. Deadlines, work, family, bills… all of that creates intense pressure, and we often feel like we’re about to explode or wish for an astral projection just to clone ourselves. Still, we need to find time to relax. On Fruška Gora, amidst its extraordinary nature and hills rising from the plains, lies Fruške Terme—a wellness and spa complex covering an incredible 40,000 square meters, offering a wide range of services, including saunas, steam baths, and “foot” massage pathways.

Vladeta Radivojević from the company Bibis, which specializes in designing wellness and spa solutions for various facilities, talks about popular treatments available at Fruške Terme, new offerings his company provides for complete body revitalization, and global trends in pool and wellness center construction.

“Fruške Terme is the largest pool and spa complex in our country. It has three spa centers. It is the first facility in Serbia to feature a nudist area. The spa includes a jacuzzi, steam bath, saunas, a small pool, and a relax area that is nudist-only with a separate entrance. There’s also a VIP spa, which is exceptionally luxurious, reserved for those who pay extra for isolation. Another massive spa center features eight saunas. One of them is a walking sauna where cold and hot water alternate along a path, providing a form of ‘foot’ massage. There’s also a caldarium—a relaxation zone with heated stone benches and walls. The temperature is around 40°C, and at regular intervals, a fine dry mist from the Dead Sea is sprayed from the ceiling, enveloping you while offering health benefits,” says Vladeta Radivojević, before explaining the latest trends in spa pool installations.

“Currently, the most popular are ceramic-carbon pools. These are single-piece cast pools made by a company from Australia. They come with a lifetime warranty and a flawless finish. The key advantage is that no construction work is needed because the pool is delivered ready-made. You can dig the hole today, and two days later, you’re swimming with a lifetime warranty. Another trend for public pools is stainless steel pools. Next to Fruške Terme, around 100 villas are planned, each with one of these pools, making Fruška Gora a potential leader in wellness tourism beyond our borders,” explains Vladeta, adding that their latest innovation is an ice pool—originally developed 14 years ago for Novak Djokovic.

“We recently completed a project on Zlatibor. In agreement with the investor, we patented an ice pool made from stainless steel. Our team handled the design and construction from start to finish. The water temperature in the pool is digitally regulated between 1°C and 4°C. A block of ice surrounds the entrance area, and the rim of the pool is frozen. After sauna sessions, users step into this pool. Some last five seconds, others up to two minutes,” says Vladeta Radivojević, who also offers another exclusive feature—a room filled with oxygen, where levels are increased from 21% to 95% via a special device.

“Given today’s stress-filled world, a German company in collaboration with NASA developed a device that extracts oxygen from the surrounding air and injects it into a room through special tubes. In just 15-20 minutes, the room reaches 95% oxygen concentration, which rejuvenates the body. These devices are relatively expensive and so far have been installed for high-profile clients, businessmen, and people who can afford it. We combine this system with devices for negative ions and salt mist. Negative ions neutralize static electricity—beneficial for our health. When you combine oxygen, negative ions, and fine salt mist, you get full-body revitalization,” concludes Vladeta Radivojević from the company Bibis.
